Candy Cane Icing - December, 2023.

Santa would prefer this to a cookie!
Your elves and co-workers will also love this iced brownie.
I add ½ cup of white chocolate chips to my brownie batter
(check out my basic brownie recipe February, 2023).
- Icing Ingredients
- ¾ cup white chocolate chips
- ½ cup confectioners’ sugar
- ½ cup crushed candy canes
(1-2 large peppermint candy canes) - This is for a 9” square pan of brownies
- Directions
- Put the candy canes (without wrapping) in a plastic bag.
- Cover the bag with a towel and pound with a hammer or rolling pin.
- Crush into tiny pieces. Set aside.
- Make the icing – melt the white chocolate chips in a small heavy-bottomed saucepan, stirring constantly.
- When melted, stir in the confectioners’ sugar and whisk the icing until smooth.
- Spread the icing over the brownies and top off with the crushed candy cane bits.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before cutting.
