Legendary Brownies of New York

Kahlua Chocolate Chip Cookies -
September 2020.

Either way, time to have adult treat. Keep as your own stash.

The recipe can be found on pages 162 and 163 of Fat Witch Bake Sale.

  • Ingredients
  • 16 tablespoons (2 sticks) unsalted
      butter at room temperature
  • ¾ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Kahlua or other
     coffee liqueur
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • 2 tablespoons instant coffee
     granules (not dissolved)
  • 2 ½ cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate
     chips
  • Directions
  • Using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars in a large bowl until light and fluffy, .
  • Add the eggs and beat to combine.
  • Add the Kahlua, vanilla and coffee granules.
  • Beat until well combined.
  • Measure the flour, baking soda and salt. Sift directly into the batter.
  • Mix well. By hand stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease 2 large baking sheets. If you are like me and only have one at home, do one round and then after the cookies have cooled - remove the baked cookies and use the cookie sheet again.
  • Using 2 soupspoons, drop balls of dough onto the prepared cookie sheet(s).
  • Leave 2” in between each.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove and cool for at least 20 minutes.
  • Remove the pan(s) from the oven. Let cool for 20 minutes or more.
  • Repeat with remaining dough.
